One week to go
Published August 25, 2007 by Rick Biche
Well here it is the middle of August. Teachers go back to school a week from Monday and the Kids arrive the following Tuesday. What will we find when we return? Good question. Our school has been under a major renovation. The big step this summer was the move of the high school. They have a brand new building. Our middle school is now piecing together spaces from what is left and what won’t be under renovation during the school year to make a school. The result of all of this moving and construction is a rather big mess as you can see from the picture of my new lab space.
I have been in all week, working in the construction zone to insure connectivity to the two temporary wings. So among the many hats a teacher must wear, I can add a hard hat to the list. Everything is for the better, however, and I am sure things will level out within a week or two. My team will be in temporary housing this year, which is much better than it sounds. In fact I would rather be in that spot permanently. This is the view
from my classroom window. If you want to keep tabs on my view this year just head on over to the Hazecam network and click the link for Mt. Washington. The camera is at the end of my room! The view is awesome. I suppose given such a beautiful site, I won’t mind so much if I catch a student daydreaming out the window. At least they are taking in the beauty that this area has to offer.
